The Nae Limits Story So Far…
16 years ago this year Kate and I met at the top of Schehallion mountain in Perthshire on a cloudless summer day, and on that day we had no way of knowing that our lives were about to change in so many ways forever. Kate was a career driven city girl based in London with a very skilled background in Marketing and Sales. I was an outdoor adventure guide with a background in everything adrenaline based. We shared a passion and love for the outdoors and dogs, and so there the synergy began and so did our relationship.
After a year or so together and sharing our dreams and aspirations, Kate gave me the nudge to fulfil the dream I had of owning my own adventure business, and so off to the bank for small loan I went. After a successful loan application and some careful bartering with a friend who was selling some gear to operate with, Nae Limits began. Shortly afterwords another friend happened to be selling a small rafting company called River Gators which Kate promptly bought with a view to joining with me on a new project that would see Kate bringing her Marketing skills and me my activity skills together. Nae Limits now took on a new buzz that meant we were now able to live and work together to bring our dreams and aspirations to life. I have always had a love of finding new ways to find a thrill and doing things in a unique and innovative way. This is perfect fodder for Kate to work with in terms of Marketing and gave her lots of things to shout from the roof tops which she did at every opportunity….
Over the last 16 years we have moved from operating from our garage at home, to the back of a trailer, to a small shed by the river Tay, to commercial units in Ballinluig and finally here in our new huge base in a former garden centre also in Ballinluig. We have grown from the business employing 2 staff to now 15+ in our new operation covering all the different aspects of the delivery such as the cafe, media and Wee limits. We are now moving into what we reckon will be our most exciting time of our business life, definitely feel like we are onto a massive development opportunity with so many ideas of how we can get our customers involved in the Nae Limits way of life, and it is a way of life and an extremely blessed one. Here’s to the future….
