Gorge walking is an outdoor adventure activity that combines rocky terrain and water. You explore a gorge by foot while following a river system. There’s a lot of sliding, crawling and scrambling involved!
Gorge walking is different to canyoning. The main difference between gorge walking and canyoning is the difficulty level. Canyoning is more challenging and requires adventurers to wear safety harnesses, make bigger jumps and slides, abseil, traverse rock flumes and in some cases, whizz down a zip line.
Gorge walking is entry level canyoning and is perfect for beginners, families, young people and team building. We provide a wet suit & jacket, helmet and recommend that you bring a pair of trainers you don’t mind getting wet, swimwear and a towel to dry off.
When it comes to gorge walking the only way out is wading through the river, ducking behind waterfalls and scrambling over the rocks. Our gorge walking experience takes place in the stunning Calvine Gorge, Perthshire’s natural water park. Explore Scotland’s scenic beauty up close as you traverse the Falls of Bruar, guided by our patient and experienced guides.
Gorge walking is a great entry level sport for rock climbing and more challenging water sports. We’ve had adventurers from ages 6 to 70! All you need is a reasonable level of fitness and an adventurous spirit! Who knows, maybe you’ll get the bug and level up to canyoning?
Nae Limits are located off the A9 at Ballinluig. Our Canyoning Team have over 20 years of experience mapping routes through Perthshire’s most spectacular scenery and will keep you safe while you slide, slip, scramble and splash your way through one of the most breath-taking mountain gorges in Scotland.
